The Process: Guided Eating Recovery Program
A structured, evidence-based CBT-E program designed to help you break free from patterns with food and your body and create lasting change.
What To Expect
This program is designed to feel clear, supportive, and structured so you’re not left guessing what comes next. Below is a breakdown of how the process works, what’s included, and what you can expect along the way.
-
CBT-E (Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is a leading, evidence-based treatment developed specifically for eating disorders and related concerns.
It was developed at the University of Oxford by Dr. Christopher Fairburn, and is widely used internationally as a structured approach to treating difficulties with eating behaviours and body image.
CBT-E focuses on the patterns, thoughts, and behaviours that maintain these challenges, while providing a clear, step-by-step framework for creating meaningful, lasting change.
Research shows that CBT-E is highly effective for many individuals, with significant improvements in both eating behaviours and overall well-being.
-
This is a structured, evidence-based CBT-E (Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) program designed to support individuals experiencing difficulties with eating behaviours and body image.
The program follows a clear, step-by-step approach over approximately 20 weeks, with the goal of creating meaningful, lasting change, not just short-term relief.
-
Sessions for CBT-E include:
Weekly 50-minute sessions
Approximately 20 sessions total
Consistent attendance is important to maintain progress
Sessions are one-on-one and tailored to your individual needs
Available in-person or online (virtual sessions)
This is a commitment-based program, designed to build momentum and support steady progress over time.
-
Throughout the program, we focus on:
Establishing regular, consistent eating patterns
Reducing behaviours such as restriction, bingeing, or purging
Understanding the thoughts and beliefs that maintain these patterns
Improving body image and self-evaluation
Building flexibility and long-term coping strategies
Each stage builds on the last, creating a structured path toward recovery.
-
This program includes practical work between sessions, which is an important part of progress.
This may include:
Self-monitoring
Reflection exercises
Applying strategies discussed in session
You won’t be doing this alone. Everything is reviewed and supported together in sessions.
-
Sessions are $180 per 50-minute session and are paid on a per-session basis, allowing flexibility without requiring full program payment upfront.
A deposit may be required to reserve your place in the program.
Direct billing may be available for select insurance providers. Receipts are also provided for clients who prefer or need to submit claims independently. Because coverage varies by plan, clients are encouraged to confirm their eligibility, reimbursement amount, and provider requirements with their insurance provider before booking.
-
This program is structured and goal-oriented, rather than open-ended, providing a clear path forward at each stage of the process. It is grounded in evidence-based practices specifically designed for eating-related concerns, focusing not only on behaviour change but also on the underlying thoughts and patterns that maintain these difficulties. The goal is not just short-term relief, but long-term, sustainable change in your relationship with food and your body.
-
This program may be a good fit if you:
Feel stuck in cycles with food or your body
Are ready to commit to a structured approach
Want more than just talking, you want clear direction and change
-
The first step is a consultation.
We’ll discuss what’s bringing you in, go over the program in more detail, and determine whether this approach feels like the right fit for you.
The Process
Assessment & Understanding
We begin by getting a clear understanding of your current patterns with food, your thoughts around eating and body image, and what’s been keeping you feeling stuck. Together, we set goals and create a starting point for the work ahead.
Building Structure
We focus on establishing regular, consistent eating patterns and reducing behaviours that maintain the cycle. This stage helps create stability and a foundation for meaningful change.
Understanding Patterns
We explore the thoughts, beliefs, and habits that drive your relationship with food and your body. This helps you develop awareness and begin shifting unhelpful patterns.
Creating Lasting Change
The final stage focuses on building flexibility, strengthening self-trust, and maintaining progress long-term so the changes you make feel sustainable beyond the program.
